First Aid School: Emergency First Aid (Appointed Person)

View school calendar

Course Overview:

This course has been designed to enable designated First Aider’s (Appointed Persons) to gain sufficient knowledge and skills to be able to deal with a first aid emergency and take charge of first aid arrangements. Workplaces are required to have a nominated “Appointed Person” responsible for Emergency First Aid available during normal working hours.

Appointed Persons will be trained to take charge of first aid arrangements including looking after First Aid equipment and facilities and calling the emergency services when required. It is acceptable for one Appointed Person to be responsible for up to 50 personnel.

Under the Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981, employers are legally required to provide appropriate equipment and enough trained first aiders to help injured or ill staff. These regulations apply to all workplaces including those with less than five employees and to the self-employed.

This 1 day course is perfect for low risk work environments; however, we also offer a 3 day course that is tailored to high risk environments.

Our instructors are highly experienced Fire Officers with first-hand experience of providing emergency and trauma care at ‘real-life’ incidents.

Who is this course for?

Non-operational and non-uniformed personnel, designated first aiders and  other individuals or ‘appointed persons’ seeking to improve their emergency first aid knowledge and skills.
